Trouw has been shaking out monster line-ups lately with its definitive closing in foresight. Thursday 18 dec, Laurent Garnier will rock Trouw together with Motor City Drum Ensembl. It is not the first time top-jock Laurent Garnier Laurent visits Trouw. While visits to the Netherlands were rare in the past, the last few years he has frequently appeared at festivals and regular club nights in the Netherlands. Clearly, his popularity with the Dutchies is on the rise.
Laurent Garnier has been making the planet dance for 25 years. He is a multi-faceted artist whose impact on the music scene is far-reaching. He is also a discoverer of old and new sounds, and has an amazingly rich musical culture. He spends most of his spare time sifting through old vinyl in record shops, following the most obscure leads on the Internet and listening to every single piece of music he is sent. His incredible sets use both Techno from Detroit and beyond, and mixes in hints of Jazz, sweltering Disco, heart-warming House, African grooves, and Jungle and Dubstep basslines.

You can mark your agenda’s for another edition of Firestarter. Firestarter is a not-for-profit party organized by four music lovers who together have well over 60 years of experience in the electronic music scene. Firestarter is extravagant, nauty, a bit absurd and very welcoming to any individual that seeks to express himself in whatever way. Indeed, the party hosts a number of artists, including drag queens, burlesque girls and gym instructors. This year’s theme is “From dust till dawn: Titty Fister”. Expect a setting similar to Quentin Tarantino’s From Dusk till Dawn. Think neon, red velvet, cowboy, rock, dusty, rough, latex .
